Thankful: My 16th Birthday

I’m 16!

I’m going to keep this post a little short but, today was my 16th birthday. Oftentimes people call your 16th the “sweet sixteen”, and if anything, that term fully embodied my day today. It means a lot to turn one year older, to grow one year more mature, but it also means another thing to be able to experience that with friends, with family and loved ones, with your closest friends and your most beloved. It’s these kinds of days when you realize that you’re one year older when you’re one year closer to going off to college that you step back and realize that there is so much to be thankful for.

Friends

My friends gave me a 16th Birthday card that was signed with all of my friends. My friends from college and school all snapchatted me about my birthday!  I felt loved and cherished throughout. Humbled and at peace. Carly gave me a heartfelt note and a plentiful present which topped off the day ever the more. Being able to have such loving friends who care and love you for who you are is just one of the most amazing feelings to ever possess, and the greatest assets to ever gain.

Thank You

Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. I had one of the best days of my life and it has been one of the best birthdays I have ever had. I feel truly blessed and thankful for the life that I have and for the people that are a part of it. It truly means a lot and it truly has made my day. I’m finally 16, time to mature a little, but still, have a lot of fun!

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” – Melody Beattie
